The story of aujune
After the birth of my second child, I wanted a more flexible way of working to be there as my children grew. I made the move to work for myself, taking my marketing experience and using it to help independent product brands grow.
It wasn't until early 2022, when my daughter and I collected some seaglass and I researched what I could do with it, that my love for jewellery making was ignited. I bought some basic tools, read and watched everything I could about making jewellery and started making seaglass necklaces and rings. My passion for hand-crafting jewellery grew and I soon started making the jewellery I loved to wear myself - simple, timeless, solid gold or silver pieces that carry personal meaning.
I invested in more tools and taught myself traditional metal smithing techniques, including hand-stamping,
Combining my new-found love for jewellery making and my background in product marketing, aujune was born in the summer 2023.
Each piece in aujune's collection is individually handcrafted with the care and attention it deserves at my studio in Kent. I continue to use traditional metal smithing techniques, giving a beautifully organic finish and ensuring that each piece can be worn every day, always.
It’s a privilege to capture your special moments in time.

The Story behind the name
Like the jewellery I make, the name aujune (pronounced ‘aw-joon’) also carries special meaning.
‘Au’ represents ‘August’ - the birth month of my daughter and son. It is also the chemical symbol for gold.
‘June’ is my and my husband's birth month and the month we married.

Traditional Craftmanship
One
I hand-make each piece of jewellery to order, using traditional metalsmithing techniques and giving each piece the individual care and attention to detail it deserves. This produces high quality jewellery that is organic in nature, reflecting the world around us, and unique in style, just like the stories they tell and memories they hold.

Forever Not Fashion
Two
In today’s fast-paced world there is high-demand for on-trend, inexpensive pieces that are worn for a short period of time before being discarded. This approach is not only wasteful but also contributes to the depletion of natural resources, pollution, and other environmental problems.
I encourage investing in long-lasting, meaningful jewellery, made with high-quality materials and craftsmanship. None of my pieces are plated meaning that, while more expensive at the outset, they are investment pieces that will hold their value and last for a lifetime.

Smaller Footprints
Three
I aspire to work in a way that has a positive impact on the world we live in, rather than a negative one. I'm committed to continually improving and doing what I can to leave smaller footprints on the earth.

Beauty in Simplicity
Four
All of the personalised pieces I make are simple in design and are made using traditional techniques which give a beautifully organic and often imperfect finish, embracing the Japanese aesthetic of ‘Wabi-sabi’ - which values the beauty in simplicity, imperfection and the natural cycle of life.
